Kylie walked into the forest holding a small kitten in her arms. It had just come in today, and wasn't doing too well. She figured that if she gave it some fresh air and exercise it would get better. It squired in her arms until she let it down, attaching a leash to the collar around her neck. It ran in circles for a moment, then tried to catch a butterfly, but to no avail.
Kylie looked around at the trees and remembered what it had said in the history book. Long ago, trees were everywhere.. but now there were only a few patches like this one... only those few to remind everyone of what it used to be like.
Kylie then continued walking, the kitten in tow, through the trees. This was her favorite place. It was so relaxing, and everything was so colourful. After a small walk, the kitten tired herself out and Kylie sat down on a bench beside the trail.
Picking up the small animal, she pet it's head softly, smiling as she heard it's quiet purr. And that was how she sat, petting the kitten and staring out at the trees, thinking of times long ago, when trees were in abundance, and they didn't have to be protected from people.

TaKai slowly walked through the forest, looking at all the trees. He remembered bits and pieces of the place as he walked through. He had been here once with a woman, who seemed to care deeply for him. TK didn't know who she was, but it seemed as if they had been close together. He stopped at a tree and examined the markings that had been carved into it. It was an arrow.

Kylie didn't know how long she had been sitting there, but when she looked around, she realized it was much later than she had expected. She started to get up, still holding the kitten, when she noticed someone else walking through the trees. She smiled, glad that at least one person out of the city was taking time to appreciate the natural beauty. She looked down at the small animal in her arms and decided to name it.
"Your name will be Luna."
She whispered. The kitten looked up at her with bright blue eyes and Kylie smiled. The kitten's fur coat was completely white, and the name seemed to fit her. Now that that was settled, she put the kitten on the ground and watched it scamper around.
She remembered that the following day she would have to return Luna to the S.P.C.A., but she didn't want to think of that. She had read once that after you name an animal, it makes it all the harder to let it go, and she realized now that it was true. She gazed down at Luna and sighed. Well, whoever adopted her would be lucky. She deserved a good home.
Trying to take her mind off that topic, Kylie walked over to the other person.

TaKai stopped what he was doing and turned to see a young woman, standing there with a cat. When was the last time he had seen an animal, or one that existed only on earth? He stood there examining her. Because of what the 'hospital' had done to her he remembered differently and thought a little different too. After a few moments, he had gotten all the information needed to remember the woman and the cat.

Luna ran around the man's legs for a moment before tiring herself out and sitting down. On his foot. Kylie reached down and picked up the small animal, smiling apologetically.
"Sorry, she hasn't been outside in a while."
She told him, not knowing whether he would even care or not. She shifted the weight of the cat into one of her arms and put out the other one to shake hands with him.

"TaKai." He replied tersely again.
He extended his exo-skeleton covered hand and shook her's. Her hand had smooth skin, and he could feel her pulse from it. He quickly withdrew his hand and looked at it. He hated what they had done to him and he wanted to be normal, but he knew that it wasn't possible.

Kylie looked down at his hand and wondered what had happened to his real hand. When he pulled away, she thought maybe it was because she had been looking at it the way she had.
"A pleasure to meet you TaKai."
She told him, setting Luna down again; she had begun squirming.
"Would you mind me asking what happened?"
She asked cautiously, in case it wasn't something he would want to talk about.

TaKai seemed like a man of few words, but he wasn't. He would say more, but he didn't feel like it and beside even his own memory of the crash was still in pieces. He only had his name and that story right now. TK looked around at the forest and saw that everything was still organic. They weren't covered or replaced with something artificial and he liked that. He wished that he wasn't a cyborg like he was now.
